CAR-TESTER
Universal banch for cylinder heads pressure test with hot water and or air

The market offers different equipment to perform watertightness tests in endothermic cylinder heads, but none of them effectively simulates the conditions of the head when it works in motor vehicles.
At present, with the creation of engines of new generation, where the technology of the materials adopted and their high performances are brought to exasperation, the watertightness test achieves a basic importance during the engine rebuilding process.
On this subject CAR studied and carried out the CAR-TESTER, an economical machine wich definitively stand out all leaks and micro-leaks thet may turn up.
CAR-TESTER joins he possibility to perform three different tightness tests with quick and simple maneuvers of the operator.

COMPRESSED-AIR TEST
Introduce into the head a compressed airflow in order to evidence the grossest leaks.
Smaller leaks are very difficult to localize with this system.
AIR AND WATER TEST
Introduce cold or hot water into the head: CAR-TESTER offers both possibilities.
Create a pressure inside the head by introducing compressed-air. Ruptures are easy to spot because a water-leak is evident.
HOT WATER AND HIGH PRESSURE TEST
This is the most certain and secure test to stand out micro-leaks. Perform the tests as follows:
bring the water contained in the CAR-TESTER to a temperature of 70° to 80° C; let the water flow inside the head for 2 - 3 minutes; when the desired temperature of the motor's head has been reached, close the water outlet circuit and bring the desired pressure (max. 10 BAR) into the head by means of a special valve.
The testing pressure is normally defined around 4 or 6 BAR and any leak is evident.
Apart from a visual control of the head, the CAR-TESTER also enables to spot micro leaks by means of a manometer.
